Dear parents and carers,
This has been such a busy week for all pupils and teachers as we had the Autumn Term assessments for Reading, Maths and English. Parents will have the opportunity to discuss outcomes and progress with class teachers the week after next. Please make sure you have booked an appointment to meet with your child’s class teacher.
At the beginning of the week we gathered for our Collective Worship where we focused on the feast of CHRIST THE KING which was celebrated last Sunday. Children reflected on how Jesus is a different type of king who leads like a true shepherd.
Other important activities this week included another meeting for Worship Leaders to plan for Advent Liturgies and the Junior Citizenship workshops our Year 6 children attended to learn more about Road and Fire safety and other important aspects related to growing up and being a responsible citizen.
As it was Parliament Week, this Thursday, children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 voted to elect their representatives on the School Council for this coming year. (See page 2 of this newsletter for names of children elected). We will be meeting with these children regularly to talk about ideas about how to improve things and make the school even better.
This coming Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent and the beginning of the new Liturgical year in Church and we will reflect more on this special season next week.
Thank you and have a good weekend.
