First Sunday of lent

Dear parents and carers,

Following our half term break, we started this last week with our prayer and liturgy assemblies when we focused on the liturgy readings of the First Sunday of lent, reflecting on the event of Jesus in the wilderness and how he stood up against the devil’s temptations.

On Wednesday the whole school gathered for our Lent Mass at English Martyrs Parish Church to pray and reflect about this important season of the Church’s liturgical year.

Today Class 1K led our Friday Class assembly and they told us about so many aspects of their learning in recent weeks, including property of shapes, reading and writing, Lent and their main topic theme – China.

Next week will be a very busy week as we have a whole range of activities planned for Book Week . On Thursday we’re inviting all children to come to school wearing clothes or costume that reminds them of a character from a book they have read.

Please remember to check the online version of this newsletter every Friday. Every newsletter issue also includes a lot more information about activities in school as well as events in the local area that children can take part in. Thank you and have a good weekend.
