Dear parents and carers,
The really cold weather arrived this week, but the children were brave and resilient, facing the chilly temperatures with determination and good spirits. On Monday we welcomed six 6th Form students from Christ the King college and they will be with us again for their second week of work experience next week.
Besides the teaching and learning in every year group, this week we also gathered for our Worship everyday, starting on Monday with our reflections on the celebration of the Mass, the Holy Souls and the school value we’re currently focusing on – Respect.
On Thursday, Class 5E visited the monument of a local soldier from Bermondsey killed in World War II. They presented the wonderful poppy wreath they made in class and thought about the sacrifice brave soldiers made for peace in our country. Our week came to an end today with an online celebration with other schools for the end of the Jubilee Year 2025.
We now look forward to next week which is our formal Assessment week for the Autumn term. Children will be carrying out different tasks and tests to show how much progress they made since the beginning of the term. Parents will then have the opportunity to meet with class teachers to discuss progress between the 9th and 11th December after school. It is also Parliament week so we’ll be having our elections for the new school council on Thursday.
Thank you and have a good weekend
