FAIRTRADE
English Martyrs’ Primary School is currently a FAIRAWARE SCHOOL. This is the first step in recognition of our work to learn about and promote FAIRTRADE in school and in the wider community.
Over recent months a number of activities have been organised that help us move forward on our journey to promote FAIRTRADE even more and move to obtain the FAIRACTIVE AWARD.
We have our own FAIRTRADE committee who meets to promote the FAIRTRADE concept and organise fundraising activities.
Helping this important cause and supporting Farmers in poorer countries is also in line with our school core values and the Catholic Social Teaching principles such as the PREFERENTIAL OPTION OF THE POOR and SOLIDARITY.
Recent activities included:

Penalty shoot out using FAIRTRADE balls with children and parents taking part to raise funds and awareness

Cookie Sale using FAIRTRADE ingredients.

Assemblies to learn and reflect on the importance of using FAIRTRADE GOODS.
