Dear parents and carers,
This week we continued to focus on the two big themes for the month of October – the month of the Rosary and Black History Month.
On Monday all Year 2 children were on a trip to the Horniman museum to find out more about toys used by children in the past. On Tuesday it was good to see such a large number of parents taking part in our Phonics workshop. On the same day we marked WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY. All children gathered for assemblies to learn about how we can make sure that we are healthy and strong in both mind and body.
On Thursday, Year 1 children had their local area walk and in the afternoon, Year 5 classes took part in science workshops led by past pupils from our school who are now attending Notre Dame Secondary school. Friday’s special gathering was 6M’s class assembly in which children shared told us about learning taking place in their class in different subject areas.
On a different note, last weekend we heard the sad news of Fr Francis Kemsey, former parish priest and big friend and supporter of our school passed away on Sunday 8th October after a long illness. May he rest in peace in the glory of heaven with the Lord Jesus.
Have a good weekend!
