Dear parents and carers
We are fast approaching the end of this term and the 2023-24 school year. There is a lot happening over these last few days and weeks. Please note dates and other information about what’s going on in school before we break up for the Summer.
One of the main events this last week was Sports day on Tuesday. Due to the worsening weather conditions we had to change plans for the afternoon by we still managed to have the games and competitions planned in the school halls instead of at Burgess park.
On Wednesday, we celebrated our Journee Francaise. Children had a fun filled day practising French and taking part in our mini-Olympics, also in preparation to the real Olympic Games begin in Paris in the Summer.
On Thursday all classes in Key Stage 2 visited Hyde Park for the Chicken Shed even where they attended shows for children and took part in different activities. On the same day we had the meeting with parents of children starting at English Martyrs in September 2024. We now look forward to welcome this new group of 30 children to our Reception class in September. Today Class 4J led our Friday class assembly in which they shared ideas and information about what they’ve been learning about in recent weeks.
Today we are also sending the End of Year reports to parents. These important documents give you information about your child’s attainment and progress this year as well as targets for next year. If you would like to meet with the class teacher to discuss the contents of the report please contact the school office for an appointment. Appointments can be arranged for Wednesday 17th July from 3.30 pm onwards.
We are now looking forward for next week which is our final full week of term. Year 3 classes have a trip planned for Monday while Reception class will be going to the London aquarium on Friday.
Thank you and have a good weekend!
