Dear parents and carers,
This has been the hottest week so for this year. It was a challenge for children to cope with the heat particularly in the middle part of the day but everyone tried hard to stay focused and do their best. This has also been an important week for our Year 1 pupils who have now all completed their phonics screening check as well as for our Year 4 children who this week have all been online to complete the Multiplication Tables Check. More children will be working on assessments tasks next week which is our Summer Term Assessment Week.
Other events this week were our collective worship on Monday which focused on the feast of Corpus Christi which we celebrated the previous Sunday. On Thursday we had our meeting for Year 6 parents to talk about end of term plans, transition activities as well as online safety. Today Class 1L led our Friday assembly in which they told us about what they have been learning about in recent weeks.
We now look forward for next week. Groups of children will also be starting taking part in the ‘Wake and Shake’ morning activities before school and two new after school clubs led by Mr Andres, our new Evolve mentor.
