Dear parents and carers,
This second week of May has been a particularly busy week for our Year 6 pupils who have been working so diligently from Monday through to Thursday, completing their End of Key Stage 2 tests. They truly deserve a big ‘well done’ for the remarkable effort they have all made.
On Thursday we took part in the celebration of the Ascension of Jesus as this is a Solemnity in the Church calendar. On the same day, both Year 5 classes visited the Horniman Museum, to find out more about the Kingdom of Benin and other aspects of history and geography related to their main topic this half term. Today, Class 5T led a very informative and interactive assembly about the Benin Kingdom and its impact on art History.
This week was Mental Health Awareness Week. All children have been learning and reflecting about the importance of staying healthy in mind and body, focusing on this year’s theme ‘ACTION – For yourself, for someone else, for all of us’.
Coming Up:
Next week is our last week for this Summer 1 term. We look forward to another week full of learning and other engaging activities including a special day on Wednesday when children are all invited to wear something Green to help us focus on the importance of Mental health for children as well as grown ups. The same day is National Numeracy day so we’ll be having more fun activities around this subject.
Thank you and have a good weekend!
