Dear parents and carers,
This final week of Summer Term 1 has been yet another busy week for everyone in our school community. We started our week reflecting on the big feast day of PENTECOST, which we celebrated on Sunday. On the same day we welcomed a very special visitor in school – Ms Olive Bailey, 99 year old past pupil of our school (then known as ‘Flint Street School’. See page 4 of this newsletter for more details and images of this visit).
A number of classes went on class trips to different Museums and other places this week. This is all part of our provision and work to give our children the opportunity to learn in different ways in and out of school.
Today, Class 1K led our Friday class assembly. They told us about their work and activities in different areas of the curriculum over recent days and week. Throughout the day all our Year 5 and Year 6 children took part in very interesting workshops led by Adrian from BigFoot Arts Education on the theme of ‘Powerful Choices’.
As the name suggests, these were workshops about powerful but often difficult choices young people have to make in their day to day life as they grow up in London and particularly in our local area. We now break for a well deserved short break (Summer Term half term week) and return for our final term on Monday 3rd June.
Thank you and have a good half term week.
