Headteachers Roundup

Posted on 13 Jun at 11:42 am

Dear parents and carers,

Our week started with our collective worship on Monday which focused on the feast of Pentecost which we celebrated the last Sunday. All children in Year 5 and Class 4G then went on a Pilgrim age to Aylesford Priory on Tuesday. This was another special event for them as part of our activities for the Jubilee Year of Hope which we are celebrating this year.

Apart from taking part in the celebration of the mass, they also prayed the rosary and took part in an art based activity to help them reflect on the theme of HOPE. (See photos on page 4 of this newsletter) This has also been an important week for our Year 1 pupils who have now all completed their phonics screening check as well as for our Year 4 children who this week have all been online to complete the Multiplication Tables Check.

I hope all parents have now read the letter we sent out on Monday 9th Jure regarding setting time limits for screen time. We believe that this is something we have to manage carefully as it has a big impact on the wellbeing of our children. You can see more about this subject on page 2 and page 5 of this newsletter.

This coming Sunday is Fathers’ Day. We wish all fathers in our school community all the best for this special day!

Thank you and have a good weekend!

Online Safety

The internet has changed all of our lives, particularly our children. For parents and carers this opens up a whole new world of things to be aware of. For many of us, this can all be a bit too much.

The ThinkuKnow website is really helpful and aims to make online parenting simple and offers many practical tips and simple guidance.
