Children’s Mental Health week

Posted on 7 Feb at 11:47 am

Dear parents and carers,

This week we have been focusing on the importance of mental health and wellbeing. As part of marking Children’s Mental Health week all children had assemblies and sessions in class based on this year’s theme ‘Know yourself – Grow Yourself’. They learned about ways on how to be able to know more about their feelings and how to deal with changes and other challenges in order to grow and be healthy in both mind and body.

A big well done today goes to Class 2J who led our Friday Assembly in building 1. They told us about a range of things they have been learning about, including different ways to count on using different resources, their writing based on the story ‘House held up by trees’, as well as their work in RE based on the story of Jesus’ miracle of the feeding of the 5000.

We now look forward to next week which is our final week before the February Half term. It will be a very special week for children in Year 6 who will be going on the Residential trip to Grosvenor Park near Ashford from Wednesday to Friday.

Thank you and have a good weekend.

Online Safety

The internet has changed all of our lives, particularly our children. For parents and carers this opens up a whole new world of things to be aware of. For many of us, this can all be a bit too much.

The ThinkuKnow website is really helpful and aims to make online parenting simple and offers many practical tips and simple guidance.
